Pat Smear Leaves Foo Fighters

Last night at the MTV Video Music Awards, Pat Smear of the Foo Fighters announced that he will be leaving the band.

The band had already played "Monkey Wrench" and was about to start "Everlong" when Pat Smear took the microphone and declared that "Monkey Wrench" was the last song he was going to play with the Foo Fighters and he then introduced his replacement. "The last song we played was my last song with the band," Smear said. "I would like to introduce you to Franz Stahl who will be taking over. Thanks you. Rock on guys. Foo Fighters!!!"
