Marilyn Manson is now being sued by the band's ex-guitarist Scott Putesky, who used the stage name Daisy Berkowitz during his six years with the band. He charges the band, its lawyer, its label (Nothing Records), and frontman Marilyn Manson himself (Brian Warner) with "breach of contract and legal malpractice." Putesky says that the band still owes him undetermined royalties. Putesky also claims that he was fired with no warning soon after Manson began recording its latest album, "Anti-Christ Superstar."
"Our old guitar player, he couldn't really grasp the concept of 'Anti-Christ Superstar,'" Marilyn Manson told Matt Pinfield of MTV's 120 Minutes earlier. "We just had creative differences, and I don't think he liked our fans really. He didn't really understand what we were about, you know, so we just wanted to represent us as honestly as possible, so we thought we'd be a lot stronger if we were to get someone else on the team."
Manson's manager says Daisy Berkowitz sent the band a letter of resignation, and that he thought both sides had agreed on a settlement.
In other Manson news, frontman Manson says he is currently writing an autobiography, which should be out by Christmas. "I'm just telling a few stories I think people will be interested in hearing," he says. Knowing him, this will probably definitely be true!
