The Alternative Music Page - News Archives: Scream 2 Soundtrack Blockbuster

Scream 2 Soundtrack Blockbuster

The movie "Scream" did very well, raking in more than $100 million, the soundtrack did poorly, selling only 80,000 copies.

Things will change for the upcoming sequel, "Scream 2." Not only will there be a sequel to the blockbuster movie, but possibly a blockbuster soundtrack, too. At this point, the soundtrack will definitely feature Foo Fighters, Sugar Ray, Tonic, Hanson (great...) and R&B artists D'Angelo and Master P, all artists with recent hits. The Foo Fighters have recorded an original song called "Dear Lover," and Hanson and Sugar Ray will contribute already released tracks from "Middle of Nowhere" and "Floored." On Monday, Oct. 20, Tonic recorded their currently untitled "Scream 2" song in a Nashville studio.

Other bands now considering or finalizing deals to be on the soundtrack include 311, the Dave Matthews Band, Blur, Radiohead, Tricky, Meredith Brooks and Sister Hazel.
