[10-29-97 Wed] Marilyn Manson and some gangsta rappers will be the main topics during a congressional hearing which begins November 6. The Senate subcommittee on governmental management and restructuring will hold hearings on "the effects of violent lyrics on youth behavior." Included in the hearing are Kansas senator Sam Brownback, Connecticut senator Joseph Lieberman and C. Delores Tucker, chairwoman of the National Political Congress of Black Women, all who have previously spoken out on such lyrics.
The subcommittee will also hear testimony from a father whose teenage son reportedly committed suicide while listening to a Marilyn Manson album.
