[12-16-97 Tues] Target stores have made an agreement with Warner Bros./Maverick Records to put a parental warning sticker on Prodigy's "The Fat of the Land" album. Wal-Mart and Kmart both banned the album from their stores after controversy over the band's "Smack My Bitch Up" single. The stores will keep the album on their shelves until the sticker arrives... Despite rumors that Alanis Morissette's new album, supposedly called "Desperately Yours," will be out as early as January, her record label (Warner Music Canada) says that the follow-up to "Jagged Little Pill" probably won't be out until summer... Pearl Jam's "Given to Fly" single will be legally released to radio on December 22. The band will also preview some new songs from their upcoming album, "Yield," during a Toronto radio show on January 29. It may be cybercast in Real Audio soon after. On January 31, PJ will take over the radio waves by broadcasting a self-produced show featuring them playing music, performing live, and chatting. It will be offered to radio stations across the country.
