[12-23-97 Tues] After lots of excuses for canceling shows and not playing together, such as the two motorcycle accidents, the Jane's Relapse and others, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have canceled three more greatly anticipated shows. The band has canceled three 'make-up' shows in Hawaii, Alaska, and Las Vegas, citing that the band has had a lack of proper rehearsal time. These shows were originally scheduled for last summer, then postponed to fall, then the end of December/early January.
"This was a very painful decision to make," said Flea, the band's bassist, "especially as we've canceled these dates before. But it's important to us that we give our best as a band to our fans and we don't feel we're prepared to do that in this time."
The band has not played together in public since July 26 at Mt. Fuji in Japan. Even that wasn't a whole show - it was stopped because of a typhoon.
